The nonprofit arm
of PB & Jax
The podcast spends every episode asking who in Jacksonville is worth paying attention to. This is what happens when the answer is somebody who needs help rather than a microphone.
What we do
PB & Jax Giving funds specific, verified, one-time needs for people in Jacksonville who have spent years quietly holding a neighborhood together — and we let the neighborhood tell us who those people are.
Anyone can nominate someone. When twelve independent people nominate the same person, that record goes in front of our board with a verified need and a real bid attached. Grants are paid directly to the contractor, the garage or the clinic. We never hand over cash.
Nobody is written about without being asked. A nomination is private, and it stays private unless the person reads their own story and agrees to it. Plenty of people accept help and would rather not be a public story — that is a supported path, not an exception.

Where the money goes
Donations go to the general fund, not to a named individual. That is deliberate: it keeps your gift tax-deductible, it lets the board direct money to whoever verification says needs it most, and it means we can help the people who would rather not be written about.
Grants are paid to vendors. Surplus on a funded need moves to the next verified one. We publish what we granted and what we declined.
